Biography
Thatiane Almeida, Sabothati. Film director and writer from Brasilândia, São Paulo, working across fiction features, documentary and series, with a body of music and culture films alongside. Director of the fiction feature Anastácias, co-director of the Red Bull / Netflix documentary Passinho Foda, and creative director of the live show Prêmio Potências. She directs with MAGMA. Her work centers Black and peripheral life and the funk and passinho scenes she comes from, held together by warm, intimate light and a refusal to flatten the people in front of the lens.
